A special project is coming to Benbrook Elementary School, and it is being led by a local student taking one of the final steps toward earning the prestigious Eagle Scout rank.
On Monday, January 5, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a hand-painted mural will take shape at Benbrook Elementary School. The mural is part of an Eagle Scout service project designed to brighten the campus, encourage students, and leave a lasting reminder of creativity and community pride.
Months of planning, leadership, and service have gone into preparing the project. The goal is simple but meaningful: create something uplifting for students and staff while giving back to a school that has shaped so many lives over the years.
Community members are invited to support the project in several ways. Volunteers are welcome to help with painting throughout the day. Donations toward supplies are appreciated. Neighbors can also help by sharing the flyer and spreading the word.
There is also a special invitation for alumni and former staff. Anyone who once walked the halls of Benbrook Elementary is encouraged to stop by and add a handprint to the mural, representing the many memories and generations connected to the school.
This mural is more than paint on a wall. It is a reflection of youth leadership, service, and the kind of community spirit that makes Benbrook feel like home.
