Many Benbrook residents woke up without power Friday morning after overnight storms swept through North Texas, causing scattered outages across the area.
According to Oncor’s outage map, fewer than 200 customers in Benbrook were affected, though the Fort Worth region as a whole saw more than 28,000 outages.
While crews have been working to restore service, Oncor has not yet provided an estimated time for full restoration. Residents have reported seeing utility and tree-trimming trucks staged in nearby parking lots, preparing to assess damage and begin repairs once conditions allow.
Some locals expressed frustration over the lack of communication and repeated outages tied to the same transformers, while others noted that Benbrook’s power reliability has improved in recent years.
Oncor has encouraged residents to report outages and track updates through its text alert system or online outage map. With limited crews prioritizing repairs that affect the most customers, more minor outages may take longer to address.
