Benbrook middle schoolers can trade today’s trends for a little 1950s flair when the Middle School Sock Hop Dance rolls into Benbrook Middle-High School on Saturday, Oct. 17.
Hosted by the Benbrook Middle-High School PTA, the dance runs from 6 to 9 p.m. in the middle school gym and is open to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders.
Tickets are $20, with a concession stand open during the evening and prizes planned for the best outfits.
And yes, dressing the part is encouraged, but the PTA is keeping it casual. Students can go full sock hop with poodle skirts and saddle shoes or keep things simple with jeans, a white or black T-shirt, rolled cuffs, scarves, jean jackets, leather jackets, and other retro touches.
So dust off those dancing shoes, Bobcats. The jukebox era is coming back for one night.
