There is a certain energy that settles over Benbrook this time of year. Hallways feel a little lighter, moments carry a little more meaning, and for the Class of 2026, the final countdown is officially on.
Benbrook Middle-High School has mapped out a full week of events from May 18 through May 22, giving seniors a chance to celebrate together before they step into what comes next.
The week begins Monday, May 18, with a mix of campus traditions, including a senior brunch, decision day celebrations, yearbook signing, and a volleyball tournament. That evening, students and families will gather again for the Senior Award Ceremony.
Tuesday, May 19, shifts the focus outward. Seniors will take part in elementary walks from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., giving younger students a chance to see what lies ahead. The day closes with a Senior Sunset at the BMHS football field from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., a quieter moment to reflect on the years behind them.
On Wednesday, May 20, the tone turns playful with Senior Field Day from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., followed by Thursday’s all-day activities centered on final farewells, tile painting, and cap decorating.
By Friday, May 22, the schedule will be clear. No school. Just the start of summer and the close of one chapter.
For families, it is a week filled with real-time memories. For students, it is a chance to pause, celebrate, and take it all in before everything changes.
