Oversized Load Causes Traffic Snag on US 377 in Benbrook.

BENBROOK, Texas — Southbound drivers on US Highway 377 near Steve Hawkins Road should expect minor delays after a semi-truck lost part of its oversized load Friday morning.

The truck, hauling what appears to be a large commercial HVAC or generator unit, stopped on the shoulder after the massive equipment slipped partially off the trailer. The unit is now blocking the right lane, causing traffic to bottleneck through the area.

The oversized load has been confirmed as a massive natural gas compressor station, likely intended for an oil rig and estimated to weigh nearly 100,000 pounds. Early speculation suggests it may not have been properly secured before transport.

Emergency crews responded quickly. As of this update, no injuries or fatalities have been reported. Authorities have not yet released further details regarding the cause of the incident or how long cleanup will take.

Just a few weeks ago, another semi-truck incident happened in the northbound lanes of US HWY 377 at the Steve Hawkins Road intersection.

Benbrook commuters are encouraged to stay alert, plan for slight delays, and avoid the area if possible. As more information becomes available, updates will be shared.
