BENBROOK, Texas. John Maurice Smith Jr., a man whose life centered on family, faith, work and music, died Aug. 7 at age 84.
Smith found joy with a guitar in hand, often singing gospel and country music alongside family and friends. But some of his favorite memories were made on the road with his wife, Marilyn, as the couple traveled across the country together.
“Marilyn and I have so much fun going from one adventure to the next,” Smith once said.
That love of family, music and a good adventure became part of the life he leaves behind and the memories now carried by those who knew him.
