As summer begins and parents prepare for the 2026-27 school year, one local resident has created a resource to make staying connected a little easier.
Kristen Melton recently compiled and shared a comprehensive directory of Facebook pages and parent groups serving schools throughout Benbrook and the surrounding area.
The list includes official school pages, PTA organizations, athletics pages, parent groups, and grade-level communities for students attending Benbrook Elementary, Rolling Hills Elementary, Westpark Elementary, BASIS Benbrook, Benbrook Middle-High School, Western Hills High School, and Fort Worth ISD.
For many families, especially those new to the community or moving into a new grade level, these online groups can provide a valuable way to stay informed about school events, volunteer opportunities, reminders, and parent-to-parent communication throughout the year.
Melton noted that the directory is a work in progress and welcomes updates for missing or incorrect groups. Several grade-level groups have already been identified, while others are still being sought for future additions.
As school communities continue to rely on digital communication, resources like this can help parents quickly find the information and connections they need before the first day of class arrives.
