A new era of TCU Women’s Basketball is taking shape, and one of the program’s newest additions is already generating plenty of excitement.
As part of its ongoing “The Intro” series, TCU is introducing fans to Lara Somfai, a 6-foot-3 sophomore forward who transfers to Fort Worth after one season at Stanford.
Somfai brings an impressive résumé to the Horned Frogs. Originally from Mór, Hungary, and raised in Australia, she arrived in the United States as one of the nation’s top recruits. Her accomplishments include McDonald’s All-American honors, three Australian gold medals, ACC All-Freshman recognition, and setting the ACC freshman rebounding record.
In her featured introduction, Somfai shares her journey to TCU and reflects on what surprised her most after moving to America.
With the 2026-27 season approaching, TCU is also inviting fans to reserve their place at Schollmaier Arena. Those interested in season tickets can sign up through the team’s interest form at TCU Women’s Basketball Season Ticket Interest Form.
