The Western Hills Lady Cougars kept their winning streak alive with a hard-fought 18-14 victory over the Southwest Lady Raiders last Tuesday night, avenging last season’s loss and securing their fourth straight win.
Fueled by standout performances, Taylor Torres was nearly unstoppable, crossing home plate four times, swiping two bases, and reaching base in all five plate appearances. Meanwhile, Raquel Pena added to the offensive firepower, scoring three runs and stealing three bases, reaching safely in four of five trips.
With an on-base percentage of .689, their best mark of the season, the Lady Cougars consistently found ways to keep pressure on Southwest’s defense. The win boosts their record to 7-6 overall and 5-1 in district play.
Next up, Western Hills looks to keep rolling as they hit the road to take on the Eastern Hills Lady Highlanders on March 28 at 6 PM.
