Tuesday night was supposed to bring district basketball action for the Benbrook Lady Bobcats, but the game never tipped off.
The Lady Bobcats were set to face the Amon Carter-Riverside Lady Eagles when officials confirmed the Eagles did not have enough eligible players to compete.
The shortage stemmed from disciplinary action following a recent varsity girls matchup between Eastern Hills High School and Amon Carter-Riverside, in which an on-court incident late in the game led to multiple player suspensions.
Athletic directors from both schools later confirmed consequences were issued, leaving Carter Riverside without the numbers needed to play.
As a result, the game was ruled a forfeit win for the Benbrook Lady Bobcats. Benbrook now sits at 7 and 17 overall, 3 and 2 in district play, and fourth in the district standings.
The Lady Bobcats return to action Friday night, hosting the Dunbar Lady Wildcats at 6:00 PM at Billingsley Fieldhouse.
