Lady Bobcat Hoops Fall at Home.

The Benbrook Lady Bobcats knew Tuesday night would be a challenge. Since December 2020, they had gone 1-6 against the Eastern Hills Lady Highlanders, and defending home court would require a clean start and steady execution.

That rhythm never quite arrived. Early offensive miscues and defensive lapses put the Lady Bobcats on their heels, and the Lady Highlanders took advantage on both ends of the floor.

The Lady Bobcats found some footing offensively, scoring 49 points with Grace Klaerner leading the way, but the Lady Highlanders stayed hot throughout and pulled away for an 80 to 49 win on January 6.

The loss dropped the Benbrook Lady Bobcats into a five-game skid. With an average of 54 points allowed per game this season, the team will use the coming days to regroup, tighten up defensively, and reset mentally.

The Lady Bobcats now hits the road looking for a response when they face Carter-Riverside Lady Eagles on Tuesday, January 13, with tipoff set for 6 pm.
