I-820 Closures to Impact Key Connections Near I-30 and I-20.

If your drive depends on the I-820 West Loop, especially around I-30 or I-20, the next few weeks will require a bit more planning.

Ongoing construction has already closed a southbound right lane between Westpoint Boulevard and the I-30 exits, with delays expected as crews continue building new ramps. During the day from April 6 through April 11, the southbound connector from I-820 to I-30 east will also be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with drivers detoured to Spur 580 before looping back north to reconnect.

The bigger impact comes overnight. From April 13 through April 17, and again April 20 through April 23, connectors from I-820 to I-20 west will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. for bridge beam work tied to the FM 2871 project. Drivers will be routed south on I-820 and then west on I-20, with significant delays expected.

For many in Benbrook and surrounding areas, these closures affect some of the most commonly used connections between major highways.
