A new piece of land just east of Benbrook is getting a lot of attention, and for good reason.
HEB has purchased 15 acres at The Shops at Chisholm Trail Ranch, located along McPherson Boulevard between Chisholm Trail Parkway and Summer Creek Drive. For many local residents, that kind of move naturally raises one question. Is a new store coming closer to home?
Right now, there is no clear answer.
While the purchase could point to future development, HEB has a history of acquiring land years in advance without immediate plans to build. In some cases, those properties sit untouched for quite a while or are later sold.
Still, the possibility alone has people talking. For Benbrook families, a closer grocery option would mean shorter drives and less time dealing with traffic in Burleson or Hudson Oaks. Others see it as a chance to bring more competition to the area and expand local shopping options.
