For families looking to help their teens step into responsibility with confidence, a summer program in the Aledo and Weatherford area is offering more than just the basics.
A two-day Babysitter Boot Camp is set to return, focusing on real-life skills, with teens ages 11 to 16 receiving hands-on training in child care, safety, and communication. The course covers everything from managing a babysitting business and working with parents to handling emergencies, understanding child development, and navigating modern concerns like social media safety and food allergies.
Students who complete the program will earn a nationally recognized Babysitting and Child Safety certification through the Health and Safety Institute. The course also includes practical training materials and continued access to resources at home. For those wanting to go further, an optional CPR, First Aid, AED, and Bleed Control certification is available.
Two sessions are scheduled at the Morningstar Clubhouse:
June 11 to 12, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. each day, with an optional CPR session on day two from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.

For many local families, it offers a practical way to prepare teens not just to babysit, but to do it well, with confidence and care.
