FWISD Puts Key Student Support Programs on Hold.

In a move that’s raising eyebrows and concerns across the Fort Worth area, Fort Worth ISD (FWISD) has announced a temporary pause on several wraparound services, citing federal funding constraints.

Programs impacted include the Tarrant To & Through Partnership, Girls Inc., My Brother’s Keeper, and Communities In Schools.

While these services didn’t reach every student, they provided critical support to many. Their sudden halt leaves students and families in a tough spot, especially those already navigating educational and personal challenges.

FWISD has not shared a timeline for reinstating the programs, leaving parents and community members wondering what comes next. For families in Benbrook and beyond, it may mean finding alternative support systems, if they exist at all.

No matter where you stand on how these programs were funded or managed, the pause sends a clear signal. For now, many students will have to face the new school year with fewer resources at their disposal.
