FORT WORTH, TX – The search for Fort Worth ISD’s next superintendent is nearing its conclusion, with the school board expected to make its decision during a Feb. 18 meeting.
So far, Karen Molinar, the district’s interim superintendent since October, is the only publicly known candidate. A 30-year veteran of the district, Molinar has emphasized her deep knowledge of Fort Worth ISD’s needs and operations.
Molinar stepped in after Angélica Ramsey’s resignation in September, following scrutiny over her leadership and stagnant academic performance. Ramsey, who served less than two years, had the shortest tenure of any Fort Worth ISD superintendent in five decades.
Once a finalist is named, a state-mandated 21-day waiting period will follow before the hiring is official.
