This week, members of the Cresson Volunteer Fire Department made the trip back home from Marble Falls with heavy hearts and quiet respect.
They had traveled to pay tribute to Fire Chief Michael Phillips, who lost his life on July 5 while responding to flood emergencies during the devastating Hill Country storms.
For the firefighters who made the journey, it wasnโt just about duty. It was about brotherhood, sacrifice, and honoring a leader who gave everything to protect others.
Benbrook stands with the Cresson crew and the family of Chief Phillips as they remember a life of service that ended far too soon.
