A collision at Highway 377 and Benbrook Boulevard could have ended much worse.
A driver’s brakes reportedly locked at a red light, leading to a t-bone crash that deployed every airbag. Thankfully, both drivers walked away unharmed, and no children were in the car.
What stood out most was the compassion that followed. A couple stopped to help, stayed until police arrived, and offered a prayer before leaving. Benbrook officers, including Officer Yeager, were also commended for their support and care, ensuring the driver arrived home safely.
Residents continue to raise concerns about the intersection, citing frequent accidents and calling for adjustments to the traffic light system.
Moments like this remind us that even in frightening situations, kindness and community can shine through.
