Western Hills found a bright spot in tournament play Saturday.
The Cougars turnedin their best offensive night of the season with a convincing 70–40 win over the North Side Steers. The Cougars pulled away early and never let up, posting a season high in points and controlling the game on both ends of the floor.
The victory moved Western Hills to 3–10 on the year and extended their recent dominance over North Side to four straight wins. For the Steers, the loss continued a tough stretch that has now reached seven games.
With momentum in hand, the Cougars now shift their focus to district play. They open conference action Thursday night with a familiar matchup against Benbrook Bobcats, tipping off at 8:30 p.m.
