Parents, educators, clergy, and local leaders are coming together this week for a town hall hosted by Families Organized and Resisting Takeover (FORT).
The event takes place on Thursday, September 18, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Greater St. Stephen First Church, 3728 East Berry Street in Fort Worth.
FORT is a grassroots coalition raising awareness about the potential risks and long-term effects of a school system takeover. Organizers say the evening will focus on what a takeover could mean for students, teachers, and families, as well as how the community can mobilize to protect local schools.
The town hall is open to anyone who wants to learn more or get involved in shaping the future of Fort Worth’s education system.
