City Confirms Memorial Bricks Will Be Preserved at Robot Park.

As conversations continue about the future of Robot Park and Castle Park, one question has now been answered for Benbrook families who helped build the park’s history, brick by brick.

Residents asked what would happen to the personalized memorial bricks during the upcoming playground remodel, especially those honoring children and families. The City’s answer is reassuring.

According to Jim Hinderaker, City Manager for the City of Benbrook, the bricks will be carefully removed before construction begins and then reinstalled once the new playground structures are complete.

That message has been shared with multiple residents who reached out directly, confirming the City’s plan to preserve and reuse the bricks rather than discard them.

For many families, those bricks carry memories tied to childhood milestones and community pride.

While questions about the broader park redesign remain, this update brings clarity and peace of mind about one meaningful part of Benbrook’s shared story.
