BENBROOK, Texas. Sergeant Christophor John “Chris” Wilding, a Marine veteran remembered for his courage, resilience and larger-than-life spirit, died Aug. 7, 2026. He was 58.
Born Dec. 2, 1967, Wilding remained a proud Marine throughout his life and faced repeated health challenges with the same determination and humor that family and friends came to know well.
When doctors delivered difficult news beginning with, “I’m sorry, but…,” Wilding’s response became part of his story: “Hold my beer.” Time after time, he fought his way back home.
Those close to Wilding remember him simply as “a great human and an amazing man” whose strength left an impression on the many people who knew him.
“Rest easy Marine. Your watch is ended, but your bravery and memory will stay with us forever.”
More about Wilding’s life and arrangements is available through Winscott Road Funeral Home.
