The Benbrook Lady Bobcats entered Azle High School with hopes of keeping their postseason dreams alive, but the Bridgeport Sissies had other plans.
In a lopsided bi-district playoff battle, Bridgeport delivered a commanding 90-21 victory, securing their spot in the next round and improving to an impressive 30-6 on the season.
The Sissies wasted no time asserting their dominance, controlling all four quarters with relentless defense and high-powered offense. Standout performances came from Brooke Case, who nearly recorded a double-double with 18 points and a career-high nine steals, and Gracie Rodriguez, who added 18 points and nine rebounds of her own.
For Benbrook, the loss brings their season to a close with a 13-14 overall record. Despite the tough ending, the Lady Bobcats have plenty to be proud of, finishing fourth in district with a solid 7-5 record and earning a hard-fought playoff berth.
A strong season for both squadsโcongrats to Bridgeport on advancing, and best wishes to the Lady Bobcats as they regroup for next year.
