The Benbrook Bobcats entered Saturday’s matchup riding high after a decisive 46-20 victory over San Elizario at the Godley Hoops Tournament just a day prior.
But their momentum came to an abrupt halt in a heart-stopping finish against the Alvarado Indians, with the Bobcats falling short by a single point in a 51-50 defeat.
The loss was harrowing for Benbrook, which extended its streak of tough outings against Alvarado to six straight losses. This defeat brings the Bobcats’ season record to 8-8. Meanwhile, Alvarado is finding its rhythm, improving to 7-7 after winning four of its last five games.
