Bobcats Open Soccer Season on New Turf at Benbrook High School.

While Benbrook’s girls and boys basketball teams were battling in a cross-town district opener at Billingsley Field House, another season was quietly getting underway back home.

The Benbrook Bobcats soccer team officially opened the 2025–2026 season on the newly renovated field and fresh turf at Benbrook High School.

The opener marked the first real test of the upgraded facility and a chance for the Bobcats to build on last season, when the boys finished 12-12 overall and 9- 5 in district play, earning a third-place district finish.

Benbrook entered Thursday night with confidence after a 2-0 scrimmage win over Southwest Christian School. But a faster and improved North Side Steer squad had other plans. On a cold night, the Bobcats struggled to find their rhythm as North Side capitalized early and often, handing Benbrook a 6-1 loss.

The result leaves the Bobcats at 1-1 heading into the Christmas break. They will return to action in early 2026 at the Bay City Soccer Tournament, using the time off to regroup and prepare for the heart of the season ahead.
