As winter weather looms, the Benbrook Bobcat boys soccer team brought the heat in a nail-biting showdown against Dunbar, clinching a 4-3 sudden-death shootout victory after a 1-1 draw in regulation.
Unlike the Lady Bobcats’ dominant 9-0 win, the boys found themselves in a defensive battle, with neither team scoring by halftime. After trading goals in the second half, the match headed to a tense shootout, where the Bobcats held their nerve to secure their fourth straight win.
Now 6-8 overall and 4-3 in district play, the Bobcats sit in fourth place and look to climb the standings when they hit the road to face Diamond Hill-Jarvis on Feb. 21 at 7:30 PM.
