Benbrook’s Foot Works Takes Top Honors at Weekend Dance Competition.

By the time the final awards were announced at Will Rogers Memorial Center, one thing was clear. Benbrook’s Foot Works Performing Arts Center did not just show up. They stood out.

The studio spent the weekend competing at the Precision Arts Challenge, bringing dancers of all ages to the stage and earning a long list of top finishes, judges’ awards, and near-perfect scores. From petite solos to senior group performances, the results stacked up quickly across all three days.

Day one set the tone with multiple first-place overall finishes and several “precision” scores, a mark reserved for routines that come close to perfect.

That momentum carried into day two, where group performances added even more first-place wins and special awards, including creative recognition from judges.

By the final day, Foot Works was still climbing. Teen and senior groups added more top placements, capped by a Best in Show honor and the title of Top Scoring Studio of the weekend.

One of the more meaningful moments came before the awards even began. The studio introduced its new Spark Works Company, a team of dancers ages 8 to 12 making their competition debut. Their performance marked a starting point for the next wave of dancers in the program.

Across the weekend, the results told one story. Consistency, preparation, and a studio culture that continues to produce strong performances year after year.

For families and supporters back home in Benbrook, it is another reminder that the talent growing locally is not staying local for long.
