BENBROOK, TX — A Saturday afternoon car accident on Winscott Road left many Benbrook residents in the dark—literally.
The chaos began when a vehicle reportedly struck an electric pole near a gas station, triggering power outages that spread through the Timbercreek area and beyond.
Confused and curious, residents turned to social media to unravel the mystery behind the sudden blackouts. Some speculated about new power lines for a courthouse project, while others recounted hearing loud electrical noises before the lights went out.
The outages, which started as early as noon, occurred in waves—once around 12:30 p.m., again at 3:25 p.m., and finally following the accident in the evening. Electric crews were spotted on the scene by 5:30 p.m., working to restore power.
After hours of flickering lights and uncertainty, power was fully restored just before 10 p.m., bringing a sigh of relief to residents who had spent much of the day in the dark.
