If you’ve spent time at Benbrook Lake lately, you know it’s a local gem.
But it’s also a shared space that could use a little more care. One Benbrook resident recently spotted a pile of nails scattered near a picnic table and quietly took action, picking them up before they became someone’s flat tire or ruined day.
It was a small act, but it made a big difference. And it reminded the rest of us that while maintenance crews and policies have their place, community pride is what really keeps a place beautiful.
The lake is a favorite hangout, but concerns about litter, broken glass, and lack of enforcement are real.
Maybe it’s time for more folks to speak up, clean up, and take the lead like that one good neighbor did.
