Putting residents first is the central message behind a newly shared campaign platform from Benbrook City Council candidates Greg Clem and Whitney Hughes.
Clem, running for Place 4, and Hughes, running for Place 6, outlined six priorities they say would guide their approach to serving on City Council.
Their platform emphasizes honest communication, transparency, responsible spending, and giving residents a greater voice in city decisions, regardless of where they live or whether they agree with City Hall.
The candidates also called for more thoughtful development, including consideration of traffic, drainage, infrastructure, and the impact of new construction on existing neighborhoods.
Other priorities include addressing speeding, school-zone safety, and neighborhood concerns while improving how City Hall responds to residents’ questions.
Clem and Hughes acknowledged that not every issue has a simple solution, but said they are committed to researching concerns, asking difficult questions, and following through.
Their message comes down to a principle they say should guide local government: City Hall works for Benbrook residents, not the other way around.
