The Benbrook Bobcats baseball team has had Western Hills’ number in recent matchups, winning eight of their last ten meetings.
Tomorrow at 7 p.m., they’ll look to add another tally to the win column in what promises to be a heated cross-town showdown.
Both teams are entering this game on opposite paths. Benbrook is riding a four-game winning streak and sits at 12-4 on the season, while Western Hills is still searching for its first victory after 12 straight losses. But when it comes to rivalry games, past records mean nothing once the cleats hit the dirt.
Benbrook is coming off a 6-1 win over Southwest, where Tanner Madara delivered a stellar two-way performance. He struck out ten batters in three innings without allowing a hit or an earned run. At the plate, he went 2-for-3 with a triple and a double. Evan Smith and Ethan Gonzales also had standout nights, combining for four hits, three RBIs, and a stolen base. Meanwhile, Giulianno Martinez crossed home plate for the first time this season.
Western Hills, on the other hand, struggled against Panther Creek’s dominant pitching, falling 13-0 in their last outing.
Can Benbrook continue its dominance, or will Western Hills pull off the upset and flip the script? The rivalry heats up tomorrow night, and this one could get interesting.
