Friday night belonged to more than football at Benbrook Middle-High School.
During the Bobcats’ game against Southwest, Benbrook’s 8th Grade Girls Volleyball team was named City Champions, adding another celebration to a strong stretch for the Lady Bobcats.
That success continued Thursday with a sweep of Riverside across all four middle school teams. Players of the game were Taryn White (8th A), Elisa Samples (8th B), Nataly Gutierrez (7th A), and Abigail Lane and Nevaeh Thomas (7th B).
The eighth-grade team also earned two individual recognitions from last week’s tournament championship, with Halle Feaster and Taryn White named to the All-Tournament Team.
Next up is Monnig. Seventh grade will play at home, while eighth grade heads to Monnig. First serve is at 6 p.m.
