Storytime at the Benbrook Public Library will look a little different Saturday, with books and AAC devices coming together to help young people communicate, participate and enjoy a story.
AAC Storytime returns Sept. 26 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. for ages 3 to 21. Local speech-language pathologists will help participants become more familiar and comfortable with their augmentative and alternative communication devices while sharing a book together.
This month’s story is Caps for Sale by Esphyr Slobodkina.
The program gives AAC users a chance to practice communication in a relaxed setting built around something familiar and fun: storytime.
Registration is required. Families can register for AAC Storytime or browse other upcoming library events.
