Benbrook, the results are in—and there’s a new reading champion in town.
S.S. Dillow Elementary School has officially claimed the top spot in this year’s NCAA Readers Become Leaders program, leading a wave of celebration across Fort Worth ISD.
Backed by city and district leaders, including Superintendent Dr. Karen Molinar and Mayor Mattie Parker, this year’s campaign brought out the best in young readers. A total of 75 schools, 1,684 classes, and over 31,500 students logged a jaw-dropping 73 million minutes of reading. The goal? Fueling futures and inspiring students to dream big—possibly even college-bound.
S.S. Dillow’s standout performance earned them a $1,500 Scholastic credit, a $500 pizza party gift card, $100 Visa gift cards for each teacher, take-home reading packets for every student, and even a visit from Clifford the Big Red Dog.
With students turning pages and turning heads, Benbrook and beyond can be proud of the literacy strides being made—one book at a time.
