Fort Worth’s most delicious showdown is back, and it’s got beef—literally!
On Saturday, July 26, Riscky’s Barbeque is firing up its grills and hosting its 19th annual Rib-Eating Competition at its Stockyards Station location. It’s a fast and furious 60-second challenge where up to 30 rib-loving contestants will compete to devour as many beef ribs as humanly possible.
The reward? Besides local bragging rights, the top three winners will walk away with Riscky’s gift cards worth $500, $250, and $100.
Entry is only $5 at the door, and spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Anyone 18 or older can participate, or younger individuals can join with a parent in tow. Everyone who competes gets a Riscky’s t-shirt and a shot at food fame.
But the ribs are only part of the day. The event lines up with Fort Worth’s celebration of the National Day of the American Cowboy, an all-day affair that draws more than 35,000 people to the historic Stockyards. Expect cowboy parades, armadillo races, cow milking, poetry, rodeos, music, gunfight shows, and even a cattle drive.
