Mysterious Tree and Missing Notebook at Fort Benbrook Trail.

Something’s off on the trail to Fort Benbrook. Hikers using the Art Cowsen Trailhead have spotted a large tree that has been cut down and is blocking the path about 25 minutes in, just past the left-hand detour.

Even more curious, the small fort along the route appears to have been intentionally taken apart. Logs are laid out by size, not scattered like you’d expect from a collapse. And the notebook that once sat inside the fort? Gone.

If you’re heading that way, keep an eye out and step carefully. Local trail users may want to report the changes or help piece together what happened.
