Benbrook City Council to Weigh Maverick Rezoning, Transit and EMS Agreements June 5.

BENBROOK, TX — The Benbrook City Council meets Thursday, June 5, at 7 p.m. at City Hall (911 Winscott Rd.), and residents are invited to pull up a seat as leaders tackle everything from housing developments to senior transportation.

Top of the agenda: a public hearing on a zoning request tied to the proposed Maverick development. The plan? Rezone nearly 14 acres northwest of Benbrook Blvd. and Hawkins Home Blvd. from multifamily to single-family housing. If approved, it would allow up to 10 new homes and shift the future land use map from medium to low density.

The council will also vote on two key agreements:

  • A partnership with Fort Worth Transportation Authority to offer ride services to seniors and residents with disabilities.
  • An updated mutual aid deal with Acadian Ambulance to expand EMS coverage across the city.

Residents can also comment on any agenda item, hear staff updates, and review the minutes from the May 15 meeting. Council and staff will close the night with informal remarks before adjourning.
