After more than 40 years of beers, memories, and Horned Frog pride, The University Pub—TCU’s beloved campus-adjacent dive bar—is closing its doors for good in the early hours of May 18.
Located at 3019 S. University Drive, The Pub has served two generations of students since opening in 1981, back when TCU was smaller and Coors Light was king. But now, its lease is ending, and the neighboring Buffalo Bros is set to take over the space for a much-needed dining room expansion.
Buffalo Bros, known for its wings, hot dogs, and Bills fandom, often packs in weekend crowds and will use the added space to prep for another busy football season.
While the decision wasn’t driven by bad blood, the news still hit a nostalgic nerve. Loyal fans flooded social media with memories, tributes, and goodbyes—marking the end of an era for the TCU community.
Catch one last round at The Pub before it fades into Fort Worth lore.
