Benbrook’s very own Western Hills students made a splash at the State Art Competition in San Marcos last weekend, and the community couldn’t be more proud!
Yasmy Estrada took home the prestigious Gold Seal, an incredible honor awarded to only 150 artworks statewide. Yasmy’s masterpiece will tour Texas until the end of 2025, representing the very best in art.
Nelson Moore and Kateline Reygadas also earned Gold Medals for their outstanding contributions, marking a remarkable achievement for the school. Out of nearly 100,000 regional entries, only about 1,500 artworks earn a perfect score, so these Gold Medals are no small feat.
Yasmy’s Gold Seal makes her one of only three students in the district to achieve this, adding even more pride to an already incredible accomplishment.
Special recognition goes to Mrs. LaForge and Mr. Richard, whose dedication has resulted in three Gold Seals over the past four years—an accomplishment unmatched by all but one other school in the district.
