Residents in the Ventana neighborhood, not far from Benbrook, had an unexpected disruption today after a Fort Worth water line was struck by a contractor just after 11:30 AM.
Calls flooded the Fort Worth Water customer service line, prompting a technician to be dispatched to assess the damage. With a large area impacted, initial reports suggested the repairs could take hours.
By early afternoon, some residents saw their water return—only to learn it would be shut off again around 4 PM for further repairs. With no firm estimate on restoration, neighbors quickly shared advice: fill bathtubs for toilet flushing and let faucets run to purge air from the pipes when water returns.
While some homes on Brookshire, Castle Peak Bend, and Cypress Willow Bend had their water restored, others remained dry. Joplin Blues and Hanks Creek residents offered to share water with those still waiting, highlighting the community’s generosity in the face of an inconvenience.
