Former Benbrook Bobcat Avery Glanzer is already making her mark at the college level.
The 2026 Benbrook graduate and UTRGV freshman tied for 11th at the PD Intercollegiate, hosted by Oklahoma, finishing the three-round tournament at Wichita Country Club at 213.
Glanzer opened with a 70, followed by a 74 and saved her best golf for the final round, firing a two-under 69 with three birdies. Her 213 is the second-best individual tournament score in UTRGV program history, while Mondayโs 69 tied for the fourth-best round in school history.
Her performance helped UTRGV finish 10th with a team score of 882 in a field that included Oklahoma, Missouri, BYU, Nebraska, Texas A&M and others. Oklahoma won the tournament at 839.
Not a bad showing for the former Bobcat in her freshman season. Glanzer and UTRGV return to the course Oct. 18 through 20 at the Diamante Invitational in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas.
