If you have walked past the cycle room at the Benbrook YMCA and wondered whether those bikes are for you, the answer might be simpler than you think. Beginners are welcome, and you control how hard you ride.
The Benbrook Community Center YMCA offers RPM, a Les Mills indoor cycling class built around music and instructor-led intervals that include hills, sprints, and steady riding. Because each rider controls the bikeโs resistance, the low-impact cardio workout can be adjusted for someone taking a first class or a regular rider looking for a challenge.
There are plenty of chances to try it, too. Classes are offered throughout the week, including early mornings, mid-mornings, and select evenings:
Monday: 8:15 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
Tuesday: 5:15 a.m.
Wednesday: 8 a.m. and 6:40 p.m.
Thursday: 5:15 a.m.
Friday: 8:15 a.m.
Saturday: 8:15 a.m.
So, if curiosity has had you peeking into the cycle room, grab a friend, pick a class, and see how that first ride goes.
