The Lady Bobcats went on the road Tuesday looking to build on their first district win. They came home with another sweep.
Benbrook defeated previously unbeaten in district at-home Carter-Riverside Lady Eagles in straight sets, 25-18, 25-11, 25-10, giving the Lady Bobcats back-to-back district victories after Friday’s sweep of Diamond Hill-Jarvis Lady Eagles.
The Lady Bobcats entered the match 15-13 overall and 1-1 in district play, while the Lady Eagles came in 9-14-2 and 2-0 in district. Once the match got underway, the Lady Bobcats steadily took control, allowing just 21 total points over the final two sets.
The win moves the Lady Bobcats to 16-13 overall and 2-1 in district, while continuing a strong stretch on the road. The Lady Bobcats have now won nine of their last 12 road matches.
Next comes a familiar opponent and a return home. The Lady Bobcats hosts crosstown rival Western Hills Lady Cougars on Friday at the BMHS gym for another district matchup.
The Lady Cougars enter Friday looking to turn things around after dropping their first three district matches, while Benbrook will try to make it three straight district wins.
