Western Hills High School is celebrating the cultures, traditions and contributions of its Hispanic community as Hispanic Heritage Month gets underway.
Observed from Sept. 15 through Oct. 15, the month overlaps with several Latin American independence celebrations, including Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua on Sept. 15, Mexico on Sept. 16, Chile on Sept. 18 and Belize on Sept. 21.
At Western Hills, students will have another opportunity to join the celebration with a Hispanic Heritage Month Dress-Up Week coming soon. The school says themed days will give students a chance to represent their culture while showing a little Cougar spirit.
