For Michelle Fournier, coaching begins with making sure her athletes know they are valued as people first.
Fournier is in her first year at Benbrook Middle-High School as coach of the Emerald Line and her third year teaching and coaching overall. She describes her coaching philosophy simply as “Grace then Excellence.”
Her goal is to create a dance environment where young women feel loved and valued while developing their talents. Beyond performances and competition, Fournier hopes her athletes leave BMHS understanding what it means to be part of something bigger than themselves.
She wants them to look back on their four years with pride for the time, talent, and service they gave their team and community.
BMHS recently welcomed Fournier while recognizing her early contributions to the school and Benbrook community.
