The Lady Bobcats volleyball team needed a reset after an uneven weekend in Rio Vista. Tuesday night, back on their home court, they found one.
Benbrook swept a scrappy Mineral Wells squad in three sets, 25-14, 25-22, and 25-19.
The opening set went back and forth early before the Lady Bobcats caught fire and pulled away late for a convincing 25-14 win.
Mineral Wells answered in the second. The Lady Rams kept things tight and pushed Benbrook deep into the set, but another late Lady Bobcats run made the difference in a 25-22 win.
With parents and students from both schools filling the gym and making plenty of noise, Benbrook finished the job in the third. The Lady Bobcats held off Mineral Wells 25-19 to complete the sweep and get back in the win column.
Now comes another test as the Lady Bobcats turn their attention to Friday night, when they’ll head to Cleburne to face a Lady Yellowjackets squad riding a four-match winning streak.
It’ll be another good test for Benbrook as they look to build on Tuesday night’s sweep and carry that momentum onto the road.
