A solemn procession moved through Irving Monday morning as members of the Irving Fire Department paid tribute to PFC Isabella Gonzales, a 19-year-old soldier from Carrollton who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving the United States.

Firefighters stood in honor as Gonzales was escorted through the city on her final journey to Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, where she was laid to rest.

In a statement, the Irving Fire Department remembered the young soldier’s service and sacrifice, saying, “PFC Gonzales made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Her courage, selflessness, and sacrifice will never be forgotten.”

At just 19 years old, Gonzales’ life was marked by a commitment to serving others and her country.

May she rest in peace, and may her family, friends, and fellow service members find comfort as they remember her life and sacrifice.
