Western Hills Alum Shehan Returns Home to Coach Next Generation.

For Joe Shehan, the next chapter of his coaching career begins where his own story started.

The Western Hills High School Class of 1998 graduate is returning to his alma mater as a Social Studies teacher and assistant coach for football and softball, bringing more than 16 years of coaching experience to the school that helped shape him.

A lifelong West Fort Worth resident, Shehan was a three-sport letterman at Western Hills, participating in football, choir, and Air Force ROTC before a brief career on Capitol Hill led him to discover his passion for education and coaching.

Throughout his coaching career, Shehan has focused on developing student-athletes both on and off the field, encouraging them to “do what’s right” as they strive for personal and athletic growth.

“I’m excited to return to my alma mater and coach the next generation in my neighborhood,” Shehan shared.

The announcement was welcomed by the Cougar Pride Alliance, which celebrated the homecoming, saying, “An alumnus is coming home to teach and coach. Congratulations, Coach Shehan.”

As Western Hills prepares for a new school year, Shehan’s return brings a familiar face back to campus, this time as a mentor for the next generation of Cougars.
