For anyone considering a career in public service, Thursday offers a chance to get an inside look at one of Tarrant County’s largest law enforcement agencies.
The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office will host a public career fair on June 11 from noon to 3 p.m. at its new training facility, located at 1500 Circle Drive in Fort Worth.
The event is designed for those interested in careers with the Sheriff’s Office as well as opportunities across Tarrant County. Recruiters will be on site, and qualified applicants interested in becoming Detention Officers can begin an expedited hiring process. The position currently starts at $27.30 per hour, or $56,784 annually.
Beyond job opportunities, attendees can experience SWAT and crime scene demonstrations, a courtesy patrol roadside emergency demo, internship information, agency merchandise, and even a few family-friendly activities, including Blue Bell ice cream.
Organizers say the event is free and open to the public, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the people, equipment, and careers that help keep Tarrant County running.
