Thousands of food lovers gathered in Graham this past weekend for the Food Truck Championship of Texas, where food trucks from across the state competed for bragging rights, cash prizes, and a share of the spotlight.
Representing Benbrook was Salmark BBQ, the local favorite owned by Glen and his wife, Ashley, known throughout the community for supporting school events, community gatherings, and local fundraisers.
With $10,000 on the line, competitors served up everything from brisket tacos and birria pizza to gourmet desserts and creative specialty dishes. Event organizers recognized winners across multiple categories, including Grand Champion, People’s Choice, Best BBQ, Best Dessert, and Best International Dish.
While Salmark BBQ did not take home a championship title, the Benbrook-based business was among the many food trucks showcasing their craft at one of Texas’ premier food truck competitions.
The annual event drew thousands of visitors for a weekend filled with great food, live music, local vendors, and family-friendly entertainment. For many participants, the championship is as much about community and camaraderie as it is competition.
For Benbrook residents, it was another opportunity to see a hometown business representing the community on a statewide stage.
